About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog. Make yourself at home, have fun looking around and please feel free to leave comments! The mother of two adult children and one grandchild, I reside in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts where I work as a caterer, private cook, (once I had the exquisite pleasure of cooking for Molly and Norman Rockwell), and yoga teacher. I have the enormous pleasure of living with three dogs and a cat.

A passionate reader all of my life, over the past twenty years I have embarked on the thrilling journey of writing fiction. Many of my stories reflect my devotion to animals, their welfare and rights, as does the fact that I eat and cook only vegetarian/vegan food. Some of my short fiction has been published and in March 2013 I won a Berkshire Festival of Women Writers' essay contest, and then had the honor of reading that work at The Mount, the former home of Edith Wharton.

Formerly the owner and chef of Embreeʼs Restaurant, a very popular eatery for over fifteen years, in the hamlet of Housatonic, a once thriving river mill town, I worked with employees who were gifted writers, most especially the poets Peter and Michael Gizzi. It was Michael in his writing group who truly kindled my desire to write.

I've performed many readings of my short pieces at the Mason Library in Great Barrington and at Deb Koffmanʼs art gallery in Housatonic, where she puts on her monthly IWOW (In Words Out Words) open mic. In doing so, I have met many wonderful and inspiring people, who have encouraged me to write, in particular my fellow writer and kindred spirit, Susie Kaufman.

I have recently finished writing my first novel, titled Summer Of The Stolen Dog,  and I am currently seeking a literary agent for representation.
